A Case of Holoprosencephaly

Abstract

|
Holoprosencephaly is a rare congenital disorder stemming from failure of normal forebrain development and cleavage during ealy embryonic development. There are three types, alobar, semilobar, lobar. Alobar type has dismal prognosis. Holoprosencephaly has associated spectrum of intracranial and facial anomalies. Antenatal diagnosis is important for early therapeutic abortion. We report a case of alobar holoprosencephaly with its sonographic and autopsy finding.
